Studio Michael Ellison, based in NYC on 38th street is a budding design firm that is seeking an intermediate level interior designer who is focused and professional, to take on key responsibilities within several current and upcoming projects.
The ideal candidate should show strong interest and talent in both residential and hospitality interiors, furniture, and material selections, and should be able to integrate the selections into plan, presentation and then into move into purchasing and tracking through to installation.
Also, the candidate must have the following requirements:
- Degree in Interior Design, or related fields.
- Excellent AutoCAD, Sketch up, and Adobe Suite skills
- Understanding of team communications and drawing standards
- Strong communication skills with outside vendors/contractors/consultants, including with showrooms
- Ability to source products including materials, plumbing fixtures, appliances, furniture, door hardware, and lighting, and coordinate purchasing as necessary
- Self-motivation and self-discipline in a collaborative studio environment, ability to organize, with a “can do” attitude
- Ability to select and develop interior palettes and create concept materials for client and internal presentations
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Prior experience with residential interiors
- Rendering ability a plus
- Must reside within New York City commutable region
